Actiq lollipops (again)

So, I had one of these a little over a week ago. The first time I tried this, it did nothing to help me. This last time, the dose was bigger (600mg). It made me itch (for hours), made 'spin' for awhile, then made me nauseous. Does it sound like i'm allergic to it or maybe just got a bigger dose than i'm use to  ??

Mike,

Certainly not to imply anything, but just from conversation and experience, many heroin users itch and some say it feels so good afterwards to throw up too.  Just some characteristic attributes attached to such a heavy drug.

So I've heard, years ago.  Roll Eyes

Michael,

The itching is the opiates.  Did you remember to take Reglan or Phenergan prior to the lollipop?  600mg lollipop is a pretty strong one.

If it helped at all, I might suggest you continue to move it around between your teeth and cheek every 5 min. or so and remove it after about 20 min., prior to all the lollipop dissolving.  Then, if needed, pick it back up a bit later as needed.  Make sure you aren't biting and chewing it up!

Just a thought!  Huh

I hope things get better for ya, as always,
Renee

Renee,
I wasn't at home when the headache started. My first thought was to hit the Trex, but I thought I'd give the lollipop a chance. I didn't have any Phenegran with me, only the Actiq & Imitrex. By the time I finished the lollipop, the pain was so intense, I hit the Trex. The headache was gone in about 15 minutes and I was left with the effects of the lollipop. I didn't like it and don't feel that it was much help (since I had to hit the Trex anyway). It's not strong enough, fast enough.

The stronger the lollipop the more intense the reaction to the opiates. You will be scratching your skin off.

You may want to go the route a few of us have gone and that is the fentalnol route in patch form.  I take 50mcg.  I know some use 25 and others 100 so the need varies for its effectiveness considerable.  However,  It doesn't make me sick or feel out of it at all.  I can fully funtion.  You may want to try it.  Since your dr is in favor of fentanol in lolipop flavor ask him if you can try it as a patch.  Good luck!

Sounds like the dose is too high. Have you tried the 400mcg?

You have to find a "happy medium" between pain relief & side effects.

Good luck, unsolved...I know you could use a break & I'm hoping you get it.

Edited to add: Also, don't forget one good thing about Actiq...is you don't have to finish the entire "pop". Suck on it until pain relief. If there's some left, save it for another hit.
