Episode free for 3 years and counting...

My heart goes out to all current sufferers...
I actually had pseudo-surgery to get rid of mine...and thusfar it has worked. They froze some ganglia behind my eye (extreme pain when they do it - you definitely know they are in the right place). I looked at the medications/treatments and I'm not sure what this was called...my father is a doctor and helped - and at the time it was experimental and it may not work in all. Just praying I'm not in a long remission...
I've read about the treatments on this site...and about hot water or cold water. I actually did both and that sometimes helped. I'd get in a hot hot shower with a bucket of ice water...after my system was hot, I'd dump the ice water on my head - it shocks the system somehow and quite often brought relief.

Welcome. Hope you're right and have found permanent relief. Gotta tell ya though ... there's not one person on this board who has found permanent relief via any method. We all have to be vigilant, take what works for us and hope for the best.
Even people using alternative treatments have to stay on top of their treatment of choice. With Cluster Headaches there is no remission - just pain free periods. My own cycles happen to be 3-5 years apart.
I can assure you though, we'd all be interested in hearing more about your "surgery." Perhaps you or your doc would be willing to share.
