Pleasse help I need to know what to stop taking so I can try the shrooms again. How long do you have to stop before trying again. If anyone knows PLEASE help me. Eileen

I-Lean, check out www.clusterbusters.com which is a site developed from some of the experts here. It's a culmination of virtually all the abstract topics in preparation, dosage, etc and will cover your questions thoroughly. nots

Prozac is the only drug you mentioned that I know interacts with shrooms. The others work by mechanisms that are unrelated to psilocybin, but there may be some minor interactions. on Oct 28th, 2004, 10:20am, eileen wrote:Someone also told me to give blood??? |
| This might help others (those in need of blood), but is not necessary for shroom treatment. Quote:How long do you have to stop before trying again. |
| If you mean how long to stop Prozac, probably a week or so based on recreational users experience. Clusterbusters suggests a longer and more complete detox (drug free for a few weeks). Jesse

| I've yet to find a doctor that can even SPEAK about it. I suspect it has more to do with their career/insurance/liability and less that they believe/disbelieve. I don't blame them at all. Just an observation, not a criticism. In general, depression drugs interact with similar receptors, so it's wise to avoid them while considering the psilocybin treatment. and I don't think giving blood would affect anything one way or the other.

I believe what you'll find after some time is that you're going to be your own doctor and will take responsibility for your own care. There's probably not a doctor around who would publicly admit or even recommend psilocybin as a remedy even if were the most effective treatment. So, time for you to get clean (the less in your system the better) but especially anything that operates in the synapse. I waited 2 weeks being clean (was surprised how good I felt after day 3) and quaffed the magical brew. Have a sitter and get to know clusterbusters Eileen. Hope you knock it out the first shot! nots

| It's a common druggie technique/myth to give blood before taking certain substances. The idea behind it is that it makes the drug more concentrated in the blood and therefore a better effect. How I miss my college days... Jesse Edit: Nevermind... I guess that's not what she meant. Sorry.

Lets Slow Down a little bit. It's not a good Idea to just stop taking all the meds that you are on. There are things to consider when deciding if this treatment is right for you. There are many medications that need to be tapered off of. Also, the reasons that the meds are taken needs to be considered. Eileen, you have a PM.

| Good point. Actually all of the drugs you (Eileen) mentioned should be tapered if you have been taking them regularly for a while. Jesse

The giving blood was to stop the cycle. I have no idea this is just what I was told. I have stopped taking any meds for the clusters. I use vicodins for the pain, and xanaz for the aniexty, and ambeice for sleeping. I can't take all that other crap I keep getting. Shrooms are the only thing that has shown me any relief but I only got a little bit and now the clusters are back and I need to get more. How do people live when you are chronic?? What is PM???? Pain free days to all........

| There is a theory (not one I consider to have any validity) that headaches, (especially migraines) are caused by a build up of iron. There are many abstracts out there that have some obscure relationships but when you actually read the studies and do so without "iron colored glasses" it's much to do about nothing IMHO. Not sure I would ever suggest blood-letting for a cluster sufferer, even IF it had any validity. Just don't like handing them sharp objects during a cycle. People I know that put this theory out there on a constant basis, also think animals should be petted and not eaten.....take it for what it's worth. PF
