Aloha! I just got oxygen filled yesterday. They gave me an M tank. Last night I only had a k4 so I didn't use it cause it was 4am and I'm scared to turn it on. I have 2 young boyz so i have the tank in the corner of my dining area under a sheet. I have to hook up the regulator when I want to use it. Why do I feel afraid of o2? Any help? The tank is so big it looks like a freaking bomb. Maybe that's why. I feel like I'm going to explode!

Install that regulator on that tank. Keep the thing handy. The quicker you start the O2, the better chance of aborting a bout with the beast. I have a bottle right beside the bed for those nightime attacks. At the fist sign of an attack, or even a shadow, I start breathing the O2. Oxygen itself does not burn. It allows flame to consume substances rather quickly. As long as you dont fill the room with oxygen, you will be alright. Although not recommended, I have a natural gas stove within 15 feet of my oxygen tank, and the pilot light stays on all the time. Never had a problem. Fact is, I had to blow oxygen right into the stove to notice any difference in the flame.

I agree...hook up that reg and have at it. I cover mine with a pillow case. When I get hit, I use the pillow case to cover my head so I don't get frostbite from the ice packs. Double duty! King size pillow cases cover up that tank pretty well. (Or is it pilla case? for that uge hed...it's like an orange on a toothpick...) T

I just got O2 on Saturday. I have it right next to the bed. Every morning, like clock work, at 630 I feel the beast knocking at my temple. I prop up the pillows and relax. I sit on it for 25 minutes 8 liters per min. I sometimes works faster than 25 mins, but it has worked after that time too. I have a propane gas stove, and diesel stove for heat (toyo). Both have a pilot light. I haven't experimented yet with the flamability, because I am housesitting....not good. Therefore I keep it upstairs in the bedroom. Have you tried using Melatonin at night. It is an over the counter suppplement, that is suspose to cut down a lot on night time attacks. I don't get them, sometimes early morning attacks. But I really really like the Melatonin. They ususally sell 3mg tablets, take 3 tablets at 9mgs totall. Anyone else agree or disagree? Angela

| I don't know. The concept is simple enough. Maybe it's a Hawaiian thing. on Oct 26th, 2004, 5:35pm, trisha wrote: Yep - http://www.headachesupportgroups.com/oxygen/oxygen.htm on Oct 26th, 2004, 5:35pm, trisha wrote:The tank is so big it looks like a freaking bomb. Maybe that's why. |
| One day, very soon, you'll look at that tank and realize it's only half as big as the one you want for Christmas. on Oct 26th, 2004, 5:35pm, trisha wrote: I feel like I'm going to explode! |
