I am on day 2 of my latest med change. I had a pretty mild week still worst attacks in morning and at night but nothing more than K6. I was on a prednisone taper and they got stronger as I stepped down the dose. the last day of the taper I had a k10 I took zomig and 45min later 2:00am dropped to k5 and I passed out. I woke up at 4:00am PF but my face right side (im right side sufferer) was twitching. crawled into bed and woke at 6:00 mild k5 but had to go to work. I called my Doctor and got in to see him next morning and he started me on Depakote ER 500mg, has anyone else taken this? does it help? Sorry for venting

Don't apologize for venting! Like everything else it all appears to be an individualized treatment. Depends on your own brain chemistry. That was the first med I took. It honestly only made me dopey nothing else. It might help you though so go for it. Anything is worth a shot. Good luck, E.

Thanks for the info. I looked at the medication survey from the left side. doesn't appear to help many of us but I'll give it a shot. Sorry about the allergic reaction. do you have another med that you can take?

Depakote is a frontal lobe acting drug . . .so we don't have faith in it . . .there are those who believe that it is only frontal acting when being used for seizures . . .but I believe it's gig is the frontal lobe . . .so there it works . . and since it appears to be a malfunctioning hypothalmus, which isn't in the frontal lobe, then depakote appears (to us) to be a medication of futility. That's our 2cents. *positive light and energy* miapet

My neuro took me up to 1500mg and then pulled me off it because it did nothing for me. Gator
