anti-convulsant withdrawal?

Having trouble typing, reading, speaking here so sorry if it makes little sense......
Getting worse as the evening goes on...
I just got taken off my anit-convulsant, Keppra( on it 2 yrs), a few days ago.
I feel weird, sort of sick and sort of out of it.
only taking verap and indocin at the moment.
And a strange low grade buzzing in my body which makes my head swim.
Body feels heavy.
Is there such a thing as anti-convulsant withdrawl?

Never heard of that type withdrawal but I would bet if you ate grapes every day for two years then stopped that the body would protest in some way.
Call your Doc.

Hi,
I'm assuming your doc had you stop? To my knowledge, drugs that affect the CNS should be discontinued very carefully.

Having epilepsy for years I never had any problems comming off of any anticonvulsant. However, It does have to be done very slowly and tappered. Not so much because of withdrawal symptoms but because the body could go and have seizures on quick meds withdrawal weather you have epilepsy or not. I would call your dr and let him know what you are feeling.

When you withdraw from anything, even vitiamines, you should do so gradually, over a period of weeks going down a little every few days. My daughter, who is a doctor, said that this is the way to avoid any possible unpleasant effects.

(got the spell check going today).
Two GP's and one HA specialist later..... maybe withdrawal,maybe not. Could be a kind of HA without the pain, maybe not. My GP said that the taper seemed too fast.

Topamax is a great drug that I couldn't take. They are very careful on the withdrawl for this thing. I felt a little strange from Topamax withdrawl but no buzzing. A little thirsty too. This was two years ago.
The Lamictal I'm taking now is the same deal. Very iffy drug as far as side-effects. I'm kinda sorry I checked it out on line. Yikes. Who knows, maybe the ear thing is related. Hard to believe the MRI thing was just a coincidence though.
I was all set to get a VNS (Vega nerve stimulator) pacemaker to help with the seizures. Another "yikes." For once I got it right. I was suspicious because of the incredible hard sell I was getting. I got calls from Cyberonics in Texas twice a week. I found that they got rid of their message board because they were getting some negative stuff.
This hard sell comes right after the FDA turned them down to market this thing for Bi-Polar depression. They had page after page pounding each other on the back for coming up with this idea only to be shot down and watch the stocks take a beating. It makes me wonder......ya know?
It may make sense for a youngster with a dozens seizures a day (they exist) but not someone like me who has lived with epilepsy for 45 years.
