Topamax - Anyone have any success

My husband is on 100mg of topamax a day and he seems to think it is working. He has been taking it for 12 days now (started out lower dose)and he says they are less intense. He is also taking Verapamil 240mg a day. When they do come on he is able to abort them right away with the O2. We don't want to let our guard down, but he pretty much has tried most of the preventitives with no success (past cycles). Has anyone had any experience with drug working so fast? Connie

Yes kidney stones can be a problen, best to ward them off by drinking cranberry juice and plenty of water. Keep them kidneys functioning well. If it looks to be helping...great. What works for some doesn't work for others. Keep us posted and do remember the cranberry juice.

He's drinking about a gallon of water every day. Hopefully that will ward off any stones.

Topa worked for me. 100mg/day at bedtime did the trick. Stayed on it for about a month, then tapered off over the course of a week.

Connie somewhere on this medication board there is another thread on Topamax. I read that weight loss is also a side effect. Look through it. Welcome to you and your hubby.
