Zomig and Victan?

I take Zomig R. 2.5 for CH and Victan ( 1 pill a night + 1 on s.o.s) for stress attacks. is it just me or this doesn't look like a good combination? although it was prescribed by my doctor.... what worries me the most is the heart rate. For once, under stress attack my hear rate goes balistic, and yesterday i had a stress attack during a CH. wich means that after i took my zomig i had to take victan on s.o.s. From what i see, is like for one side saying to my body get down with the rate (victan) but from the other (zomig) get up with the rate (as taquicardia a side affect on me).... It was the first time i had the 2 types of attack at the same time and freaked me out. felt like my life was being drained out of me. Anyone here with the same experience (CH + stress attack medication at the same time?)

"Victan" is not a name I recognize in the U.S. Can you give us the generic (chemical) name? From your message, it suggests that it's a medication to control anxiety which comes with a cluster attack. If I'm correct, then it's likely that your heart rate going up is because of the anxiety and not from the cluster attack. Unless you have some kind of heart disease, there should be no problem using both medications at the same time. Learning how to handle your fear of cluster will reduce the anxiety a great deal. It's quite possible to have a cluster attack and not experience any fear/anxiety about it. You have to learn how to do this, however.

Victan is a benzo. Alot of us take xanax which is very similar, with no problems.

| yes, sorry Victan is a benzo. I'm not taking if because of the CH but separate stress ansiety, as result of 4 breakdowns in 10 years and stressy work. I do fine with the one victan everynight ans the stress attacks diminisghed considerably (i used to have one every day at night when the adrenaline of the stressy day runned out and go to the hospital), thus i never wen't back to the ER because of it. I'm taking a calm life now, cutted down on stress completely this year as moving out to germany and study german and do some freelance jobs here and there but nothing too stressy. But maybe my kidney infcection which out me in bet for a month and an half was enought stress build up again anywho, i never experienced having the need to take victan during CH as, someone said, i had already learned to control ansiety (or deal with it) during CH. Was just worried (there it is again) that the mixture might not be good. thank you.

Hi Lars, If you are worried then talk to your doc about it. There is no need to add more worry. The med mixture might techically be fine, but if it doesn't settle well or feel right to you then ask about it. Be well, Lionsound
