Hi everyone. I got my O2 yesterday from my grampa. Here are my prob's though. 1. The regulator only goes up to 8 or just above 8 2. I don't know how long to use the O2 for 3. The mask I have is one without a resovoir, is that ok? I think that's it. I'm also, and now that I say I will totally jinx myself but I have O2 now so oh well, almost at the end of my cycle. YA. They are coming on less during the day and less during the evening. I am totally exhausted at this point! I go to see another neuro on August 31st. I am going to bring the list of meds that everyone has given me, especially Michael - Thank you so much. Thanks for helping me with the O2 info. I know you have all told me in the past but what can I say...I didn't have a tank to work with, now I do! PF to all Shani

Hi, It's good to try the OČ. 8 what? pressure (psi / bar) or liter My doc told me to get OČ at 8 liter/minute (i guess minute but i'm not sure) but after reading this board, up until 15 seems more effective. Try it at 8 first and if it is effective, so much better, the bottle will last longer. The mask should be of the rebreather type with bag, click on the "oxygen info button" on the right.left You shouldn't use the OČ longer than 15 mins, after that it's not going to work. Ronny.

Hi Shani, From what I've learned here, you're at the very bottom of the O2 being effective. It seems that O2 works best at flowrates of 10 to 15 lpm. What you probably have is a regulator for medium flow rate that tops out at 8lpm. Also, it doesn't sound like you have a non-rebreather mask. What you've described sounds like a rebreather mask where you are rebreathing part of you own air everytime you take a breath. I've read somewhere here that if you tape the holes off and just inhale through the mask, that it may work. I've also heard 10 to 20 minutes is a good amount of tme. If it doesn't work by then it isn't going to. Sounds like the neurologist are going to be making money on the 31st. That when my appoinment is too. Hope this helps, John

Tell your Neuro to hook you up with a regulator that goes up to at least 15 Liters/Minute. You will also need a non-rebreather mask. PM Jonny on the board and he can hook you up with one, he did for me and I am most greatful. If you do get O2 through your Neuro, you will most likely go through Apria as the supplier. The do most of the supply in the USA. They know all about CH, I just got my delievery today and the driver asked what I used the O2 for, since it had been a while since I got refills. I said headaches and he said, "Cluster headaches? Man, I feel for you." It is nice to know that even drivers know about what is going on with us.
