Relpax! My new silver bullet?

I have been pain free for 3 years until 3 months ago when another visitation by "the beast" heralded a full blown episode. My old standbys (Cafergot and Immigram) ran out of juice about three weeks ago. That was just about the time that the number of bouts per 24 hour period had risen to 5 - 6 with much shadowing in between. It was then that I quickly reinstated my account with the local Oxy supplier. That became my silver bullet (and is still effective for the most part) until a week ago when I chased the beast up and down the house from early evening until the wee hours of 4 - 5 am (not sure because by then I was barely coherent). This series of attacks were the weirdest I have ever experienced in 30 years of my acquaintance with the "beast". At onset I would begin Oxy at 10 LPM. The first attack occurred around 7 pm. The Oxy did its work and within a few minutes the pain was gone. It reached perhaps a KIP3 level. Then, in succession, I chased the beast at least nine more times between the first event and the last at the aforementioned early morning hour. By the fourth bout I was shadowing in between. By the time it was over I had wiped out a tank of oxygen in one night. Some of the bouts didn't abort until 30 - 40 minutes had passed. Some of the headaches reached KIP7.  Since that night I have returned to 4 -5 bouts per day, more widely seperated, occuring at the usual times (early p.m., after dinner, 2 am, and a couple of whatevers)
After the above, I went to work on a new defense plan. Part of it was to get a hold of Relpax (not sold in my country of residence) which I was able to do through a friend who was traveling in nearby Singapore. I received the packet today. Sitting in his office around 10 a.m. I was shadowing after awakening earlier to a full blown KIP7. I dropped 40MG of Relpax and waited. Thirty minutes later all vestiges of pain and shadowing had disappeared. Since then (it is now nearly 8 pm, I have been pain free - - no nothing. Don't know if "the beast" is waiting in the wings to try again, but tonight I will go to bed more confident then any night in the last three months. I hope it wasn't a fluke. Any other Relpax experiences to share? Thanks & Best Wishes For PFDAN

Isn't it just like us to get excited about our latest meds prematurely. As it turned out Relpax was only partially succesful in keeping my nighttime attacks away. But partial success is better then none and I will stay with it for awhile.
I was surprised at your statement that the prices was $22.00 per pill. I am assuming that is the 80MG version but it still is quite high. I can get them in Singapore for around $4.00 each for the 40MG. Maybe I should become a smuggler.
Cheers,
