Hello my Brothers and Sisters of PAIN!!
I have a couple questions for those who have tried prednisone. Whats your dosages and how long do U usually take it. I understand very well the side effects as prednisone is used in helping treat some of my asthma and chronic lung disease patients. However, After my Allergic reaction to the Demerol last week (See Post in Cluster marked (So There I was) I was put on prednisone and even though it didnt work for me before. SHIT IT may have helped!!! I am out now and headed to my Neuro just want to know how some of you all feel about it and such. I suppose I could live with the side effects but for short term usage but long term can really mess up your body.

When I do a Pred taper, I typically do a 10-day hit starting at 60... ie
60 60 50 40 40 30 20 20 10 10
The 20 & 10 days do not do a whole lot for me with regards to CH prevention.
Latest was a 6 day hit.... until the Topa took hold...
40 40 30 20 10 10

This is my current schedule.
20 mg 3 times a day (60mg a day) for 7, then go down to 2 a day for 2 days then 1 a day for 2 days then 1/2 a day for 2 days.

I don't remember the exact taper but it was similar to Rock's. I started at 60mg and by the time I got to 40mg I was right back to where I was before I started.
Those few nights of sleep that I got were nice but the side effects suck.

When on 60mg I eat about 4 Domino's pizzas a day. That barely makes my stomach stop growling.
40mg puts me down to about 2-3 pizzas.
You get the idea. When on Pred, and open box of cereal is an empty box of cereal. Ditto for cookies, crackers, et al.

60 mg won't do much for me anymore. I usually start out on 80 - 100 mg. Then taper slowly.
PS...Get the cookies in the oven !

I'm @ 20 and if you've come across some of my posts I guess it hasn't done shit yet!!
I can empathize with all of the freaking LBS!!!!!!!
I gained 20 pounds since JUNE 15.
