I have O2 Tanks and need a refill alternative

I am in the beginning of a cycle. I have two tanks that are almost empty and would like to get them refilled. Do I need another prescription or can I just go somewhere and get them filled? Will they fill them for me at a welder supply shop. And if so, is it safe? I'm a Newbie here. I've had these darn clusters since I was about 18. I've been getting them long enough to see the patterns and cycles. The only escape I have ever had was during my college years when psychedelics were plentiful. as soon as I stopped them, the headaches returned. O2 has been a savior

Where did you get the tanks? Do you own them or what? Let your fingers do the walking and make some phone calls in your local area would be the only thing I can think of. Welders O2 is supposedly safe. Ask Superpain about that. Gator

If I don't misremember, welders' tanks have a different kind of valve or something. You need to have the right arrangement. But welders' O2 is exactly the same, I am assured, as medical O2 - comes from the same tanks.

I think you've gotta get medical tanks refilled by a med supply.

yep, and you will need a prescription if they don't have one on file, however, you might shop around and find a med supply shop that fills your tanks no questions asked. Especially if you walk in with your own e-tanks and cash. I was extremely lucky. At the med shop I bought my e-tank at, the saleslady was a former respiration therapist who actually had experience treating a clusterhead. When I told her I had CH, she didn't even ask for my prescription.

I have tanks that are delivered to me by a home oxygen company but my ins. limits them to only one delivery a month, so, if I run out of O2, I take the emptys to the local welding supply and they swap the tanks out, for a nominal fee of course.

My welding supply place will fill any E tank, as long as you show them a copy of the script. They fill all the tanks for the medical supply anyway, so all you're doing is cutting out the outrageous price increase from the medical supply.

I work for a Medical Equipment Company and i am also a Resp Therapist. They have a concentrator called home fill II by Invacare. It will allow you to fill a small tankof oxygen that should last 2 maybe even 3 attacks it takes about 90 minutes to fill a tank with the unit it might be an option for some of you to try it.
