Oh, well in that case, someone posted what they said was a cure in the guestbook. It involves rubbing cat schit on your head. One of the entries is purportedly from a neurologist.
Seriously, though. The pepper thing I could almost believe, capsasium has pain relieving applications. Problem is I am a hot sauce and hot pepper hound and I still get HA's. This crap (no pun intended) about cat schit, though is obviously an attempt to get someone to do something disgusting. The person/people who wrote the entries should be publically flogged in the town square and broadcast across the internet.

I read the previous posts with interest. In my 1995 paper "Cutanous applications for neuropathic pain: A novel approach(J.Irrep.Results; 3:4,pp33-45;1995), I addressed the topic. Ammonia is indeed a good solvent for cutaneous absorption of carrying agents, and feline fecal matter is rich in taurine, an agent that can help stop the reuptake of substance P and inflammatory neurokinins. Cat urine can therefore give double benefits. So the combination will doubtlessly work to a degree, but beware: Many cat foods now have low taurine to avoid urinary stones, so don't feed this type of food to your cat if you want to enhanse efficacy (read the label on the bag). Covering the paste with the new "clear duct tape" from the 3M company seems to work well for my patients.

I think these messages took a turn to the odd, but here is something to think about: Cat urine is mostly ammonia (NH3). In a pinch, you could use the clay-based residue in a litter box as the emulsifiling agent: The clay-litter soaked with urine plus the "droppings" (I generally use another term), grind to a paste. *poof* you have all the ingredients for a topical paste combined from the same source (the litter box). I've tried weirder things...

I once tried the household ammonia with bird guano. It helped, but kept running down the back of my shirt. It would make sense that the cat droppings would be more effective.

My husband has cluster headaches. I treat them by rubbing a paste of household ammonia and cat droppings into the back of his scalp when he is in pain. I don't know if it works or not, but he stopped complaining to me!

Jeff-whatever: If I get caught being stupid in a no stupid zone, I learn from it and move on. I have never been so lame as to delete a post so people that people couldn't read whatever stupid remark I might have made. Layed is played as far as I'm concerned unless the Moderator asks otherwise. As far as pain goes, I don't care if you've been hurting 10 years or 10 minutes - pain is pain. If I can help someone forget their pain for just a few minutes by being a clown, I'll don the Bozo outfit any day, even for you. Don't get so wrapped up in yourself and your pain that you can't laugh at yourself. It's a sure ticket to insanity. That's something the people here know that you apparently need to learn.
Even though I don't HAVE to explain it, the axe is to denote the side the pain is on. I tried doing a pic with a dagger in my eye and it didn't show up well enough for my personal liking.
As far as being me being self-centered, how many clusterheads have YOU talked through an attack, even though you were hurting youself? How many people have YOU done research for because they weren't sure how to find it on the net? How many people have YOU stood up for when they made anunpopular post and everyone else was trashing them? How many clusterheads have YOUR phone number with instructions to call you if they ever need to talk ANYTIME day or night? How many times have YOU cried because someone you never met was going through a really bad time and you felt powerless to help them?
As far as my being helpful, the first post I made in this thread was to direct you to a couple other threads where the topic had been discussed at length, with a concilliatory statement thrown in to show I understand. The second post I made was one made in fun to help you laugh at the situation. Then you pulled the lame a$s stunt of removing your posts. To make it worse, you come back under a different name and try to trash me? My only regret is that I did not quote your posts in their entirety.
If your pain is the most important thing in your life, then you need to seriously re-evaluate your life and your priorities.
As far as your insults: I've been called worse by better. Probably will again, too. Excuse me if I go an with my life, now that you have crushed my feelings. Your little rant has served no more than to amuse me.
If you wanna shake hands and play nice, I am still willing to do that as well. This is a great place for information and support and I'd hate to see anyone do without either.
