Always cold...( serious question)

Ok...I've been finding this to be an ongoing problem lately...while others are in shorts and t-shirts, I'm freezing. Last night I was oustside watching the kids play frizbee, daughter was in her shorts and lightweight t-shirt, son in jeans and a t-shirt and sweating his buns off, and I had a heavy sweater, jeans, jacket on, and in my lawn chair with a blanket over my legs and still cold? Is this a SE of any of the meds perhaps? It's 77 degrees right now, and I again had to wear a jacket to go get my car from the shop...

Have you had your thyroid checked? They check mine often because I'm generally always cold.

Yep they ran the full battery of hormone and glucose and all that crap tests...(even HIV) when I went to the doc in March. Even my base line cholesterol is 116... I'm just wondering if with my low BP if I haven't been ion the verap too long?

I wouldn't think so, but I suppose it is always a possibility. Everyone reacts differently to meds. I've been on verapamil for about 2 years now, I think. Anyhow...maybe call your doc?

If you're using Verapamil you should keep an eye on your bp as it tends to lower it. Jim

Also, if you're taking any triptans as preventatives, remember that triptans are vasoconstrictors. Smaller blood vessels mean less circulation. Side effect = cold. Bill

That reminded me of something the rheumatologist told me back in January. They were unhappy that I was on methergine and DHE because they are vasoconstrictors and I have Raynaud's, which causes problems with circulation. So definately see how often you use vasoconstrictors and you might want to check with your doc on that too.

Renee - I went in to have a hysterectomy. My doc dug around for awhile and couldn't find a hyster, so I got a vasectomy instead. Didn't change my core temperature. Bill

LMAO... Had the hysterectomy 10 years ago hun... As I said I think it has alot to do with the Verap and it lowering my BP. I'm not passing out from it being too low, just always chilly. So I guess you have to sometimes take the good with the bad huh? I can always put on warmer clothes I suppose. I'd be too afraid too stop the verap. When the HA specialist started the topamax for me she started to lower the already low dose of verap, and it was NOT a good move. So I'll put up with the being cold. Any good samritain males care to come keep me warm? LOL. JOKE PEOPLE...

hi...went to a headache doc a week ago, and he asked me if my feet and hands are cold - ALWAYS. He told me that this is very typical of cluster people...always cold, esp. hands and feet. So just wrap up and wish that were the least of our problems....good luck, Janet

Hmm... this is intresting. I'm nearly always freezing. But what is even more interesting, my hands are always cold (even when I'm in the sauna). My neuro said that it's liked to ch and bloodcirculation problem. Don't know about that, though... Best wishes, sandie99
