Simple Surgical Procedure

Have just had simple surgical procedure done and it has STOPPED the pain. I am half way through a 3-4 mth bout and IT has stopped. Still have minor symptoms but NO pain. Will be glad to send anybody the details in PDF or if somebody can tell me how to upload the PDF's to this site and you can all see it. Involves "blocking off" up to 3 "extra cranial" arteries. I've had one done and I might request to have the second one done to see if these symptoms go altogether. The Neurosurgeon who sent me the details, claims it will treat ALL vascular headaches, migraines etc. I have been a sufferer for more than 10 years and believe me, I'm in heaven. I took a risk and it seems to have paid off. Obviously, the risk is yours too. Love to all.
Cagey.

Glad you found something that helps you!  It does sound somewhat risky, but all treatments (and doing nothing) have risks and costs.  As long as people understand the risks, they can make decisions for themselves.

Would like to know more . I don't know if a pdf can be posted in a message.

Is that a plug from Dannyboy or has Ali Sultaneh come back in a new disguise?

"Extra cranial" arteries have nothing to do with CH.
CH is "in" the head, not "extra cranial" - on the outside.

What might be good for meegraines or tension headaches does not necessarily apply to CH. Your neurosurgeon obviously needs some reading on clusterheadaches.

Please don't evoke false expectations with this extra cranial arteries stuff.

Just as a point of clarification, true migraines are complete neurological in nature.  They have absolutely nothing to do with vascular conditions on the outside of the head.  Occipital nerve stimulators have proved beneficial for some cluster headache sufferers...this is an extracranial nerve.  For people with tension problems associated with migraine, sometimes the OSNI's are beneficial...jury is still out on whether or not this can be of any use for people with true migraine.  Not enough is known about any of these conditions to explain why things work sometimes.

Glad you are feeling better, regardless, cagey.

Thanx Lizzie for your patronizing explanations.

Butt, if you had been hanging around here as long as I, you'd know that both Dannyboy's dad and Ali Sultaneh claim to cure meegraines by a vascular decompression surgery, with some success without doubt. As both Dannyboy and Ali are top notch scam artists, with no idea of the difference between CH and M, they try to suck on unwary clusterheads.

Your excursion on nerve stimulation is interesting, and not new to me, but has nothing to do with the arterial surgery discussed here.

I hope you feel better too,

Trust me,

I do know who he is.  I worked to get him removed from achenet sites.  He has also been removed from the about.com headache site.  So yeah, I know all about that.

Patronizing you say?  Well, I've worked in headache research for some time.  You don't want him to put out false information about clusters.  I do my best to work for preventing false information from being put out about any type of headache.

Regardless of why he is feeling better, we should be more encouraged simply that he IS feeling better...  What difference does it make what his reasons are?

But you like to argue fact bytes in almost all of your posts, so go ahead.  Don't bother me none.

Some things about Ali Sultaneh just don't add up:

Someone whose credentials are listed as a PhD has performed thousands of surgeries:

http://155.100.34.97/abstracts/abstracts.fm$retrieve?value=43363&fie ld=RecID&html=detail&doscript=counter

and he claims Quote:
The pain of migraine headache or any vascular headache such as tension headache or Cluster headache is caused only by dilation of one or more extra cranial superficial artery.

http://www.medicinechinese.com/A55800/tcmforum.nsf/0/264e5645b86a689b862 56dcf005ae43c?OpenDocument

That is wrong at best, and possibly dangerously wrong.

Yeah but you live in a country where you absail off buildings and your neighbors to the east bungy jump!  Must be the beer.

Seriously,  you are ahead of us when it comes to the neuro stuff.  Saw a thing on one of our tellie news mags that said a Aussie neuro surgeon had perfected a surgical tecnique for curing seizures.  After the news mag. followed the family of a young child and his family to Melbourne for the Surgery the American neurosurgeon who had origianally refused to do it came on board and invited the punter to the States to teach the technique.

Being born a yank, but holding dual citizenship I AM VERY INTERESTED AND I WOULD LIKE YOU TO SEND ME DETAILS PLEASE.
