Daily DHE45

Any one taking daily DHE 45 injections? I started these about a 18 months ago during a CH attack - no more headaches, unless I forget to do the shot. Everything I read says DHE is only for short-term use - that probably does not mean for over a year. Thoughts? Ideas?

You can rebound off DHE if used too often (ie. in general more than two times a day and more than twice a week). It can have as grave of consequences as constricting all the blood vessels in the legs, causing it to be impossible to walk for awhile, and also is not good for the heart to be used daily over time. Just some insights.. Lizz

I've never heard of DHE causing rebounds. They're are a few others that have used DHE IM injections to abort an attack but i'm not sure if they used them daily as a preventative. I also have my own DHE vials here. I used them for awhile but no longer do. I felt if I took a 1 mg shot every 20 - 24 hours, the headaches would have been prevented but the doctor(s) did not want me to use them in this fashion. Only as an abortive and not as a preventative. I know DHE IV would cause problems (for me) after awhile (leg pains and circulation problems). The only other thing I can add is that if you use DHE, you can't use Triptans (and that sucks) and you better keep an eye on your BP. Goodluck Unsolved
