Baclofen Experience

Good morning. Based on the Baclofen references on the OUCH meds table, I decided to give it a shot. Started 10mg 3x daily (0600, 1400, 2300) on Monday. Note that Baclofen is filthy cheap... if you are self-insured I would give it a shot, regardless what my results were. Overall feeling was noticeable. A 'puffy' feeling. Not a bad thing. Would almost equate it to the first two or three minutes after smoking some herb, right when it starts to kick in. Joked that it gave me the 'power of dancing'... heh heh. I tended to be a little drowsy at times. For the CH's it did not have a noticeable effect... was having 1-2/day before, had 1-2/day while on it. Probably was not on it long enough due to the side effect described below. I abort my CH's at once, thus cannot comment on duration or severity. Now note that I tend to be allergic to nothing. I can remember nothing that has ever triggered such a reaction as I describe here. On Wednesday I developed a mild rash on my thighs... perhaps a dozen pencil-eraser size patches on each side. I thought nothing of it. On Thursday I had the same on my chest. Friday was a different story. I was making breakfast for my daughter (her 10th birthday today... woooo!), when she gave me a 'Uhhh.... Dad... what is wrong with you?' The rash now covered my chest, back, neck & upper arms with a density not unlike Dax on Deep Space 9... quite dense for those not familiar with said reference. A few spread to my face, head, arms & hands. I stopped the Baclofen. The effect of that was a 12 hour KIP4-KIP6 that went from Friday 1500 - Saturday 0300. Hit that with opiates after the first shot of triptans due to the duration. On Saturday morning the rash seems to be clearing up. Perhaps others will have better success. Regards, Rock Lobster
