Nerve blocks have been talked about here several times. (Look in the archives) There are several kinds of nerve blocks each with it's own procedure. (Sphenopalatine, Occipital, Facet, and more). I've had the 3 I mentioned. The only one that helped was the first Occipital block I had (17 days PF). All else failed ... for me. Having a successful block will give doctors a clue on which type of treatment to start next. Did you have any specific Q's on one of these blocks ? PM me... Unsolved

I've had 2 Occipital Nerve Blocks. One in Dec one in Feb. Both lasted a whopping 3-4 days and I was hit like a mac truck afterwards. I have also had a Radio Frequency stripping of my occipital nerve. That was done Feb 25th. I still get the HA but they are a little less intense then they were before. About 25% at most. Supposedly that will last 9-12 months, but I figure I'll wait and see. Since the nerve block was supposed to last longer then 4 days.

I've had nerve blocks. Occipital, facet, supra orbital and supra trochlear. The one that works best for me is the supra orbital and supra trochlear. The last time they lasted about a week pf at that site and have yet to return to 100% pain at that location, after 3 or so weeks. Can't really remember exactly how long ago but a few weeks ago. They all helped for awhile. The facet blocks..first one lasted 6 weeks PF. Second one lasted almost a month. the third lasted only a week. These were all done one after the other once the pain came back. i'll take a nerve block over demerol anytime! good luck renee

I am on my 5th nerve block. They all last about 5 to 7 weeks. I am a cronic so they are a welcomed relief for me.

Hi Steve, I've had 3 nerve blocks, with the first one I had 3 days without pain, it was the first time in the last 5 years. The last 2 did nothing, but hurt. I guess like with everything else, everyone is different I hope that if you get a block that it works for you. PF wishes Bec
