I tried both chiropractic and accupuncture. Both made me feel good (especially neck and shoulders), but neither had any effect on my clusters. Alan

The only relief I got from a chiropractor was a flatter wallet. Big waste of time.... Bill

Back, neck, shoulders, legs = yes. Run of the mill headaches = yes. Clusters = no. Been doing the chiro thing for 20 years, and they're great for some things, totally ineffective for others.

I see a chiropractor once a week and it does diddly squat for my cluster, nor do I expect it to. It's sort of a "free tune-up" I get along with a back massage every week. The back massage rocks.

Chiropractic Treatment took my clusters away completely! You must find a chiropractor that specializes in APPLIED KINESIOLOGY. Regular chiropractors won't help a bit. The doctors that practice kinesiology deal with nutrition and will find what it is that you put in your body that is giving you the headaches and/or what it is you're not getting enough of. Only about 0.5% of chiropractors in the US practice kineisiology, but it is worth looking into because I haven't had a cluster since the day that I went to see him and I have recommended him to everyone I know that has clusters and they have all worked for them as well. 99% of pain is caused by what we put in our bodies!

"Applied kinesiology (AK) is the term most commonly used to identify a pseudoscientific system of muscle-testing and therapy. It was initiated in 1964 by George J. Goodheart, Jr., D.C., and has become quite elaborate. Its basic notion is that every organ dysfunction is accompanied by a specific muscle weakness, which enables diseases to be diagnosed through muscle-testing procedures. Most practitioners are chiropractors, but naturopaths, medical doctors, dentists, bogus nutritionists, physical therapists, massage therapists, nurse practitioners, and multilevel distributors (most notably for Nature's Sunshine) are also involved." on Mar 15th, 2004, 12:22am, StateRed7 wrote:Only about 0.5% of chiropractors in the US practice kineisiology |
| "In 1991, 37% of 4,835 full-time American chiropractors who responded to a survey by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) said they used AK in their practice. Subsequent NBCE surveys found percentages of 31% in Canada (1992), 60% in Australia (1993), 72% in New Zealand (1993), and 43% in the United States." APPLIED KINESIOLOGY Will not fly around here. We are a little too jaded. Try this or this or this. UELI!

I won't. I just want to see if it takes some of the tightness away. I'm Chronic and turning my neck side to side is a bit of a struggle. I recently got injections into my pressure points at the Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia Pa and that did help but have had several CH since. They've been hitting 3 to 5 times a night. They have been pretty short lived. About 20 min at per CH but pretty darn painful and stressful. Connie
