[s  I have been a Maxalt Mlt user with some success. My doctor told me about a new drug called FROVA. I was just wondering if anyone out there has tried this.
I have a perscription which I will fill soon and I will let you know how it works for me.

Don't want to be a wet blanket but it's been discussed here quite a few times if you check the archives. The results have been patchy to say the least 
It isn't a new drug at all, just another different Triptan (frovatriptan).
As far as I'm aware, certainly here, it is only available in pill form which would render it pretty useless for the average cluster attack as it would be over before the pill worked.
Some people have reported some success using it as a short term preventive as its "half -life" is longer than some of the other triptans. Some took it before bed to try and prevent a night-time attack, but the success of that was patchy as well I think. Some others reported developing migraine type pain during the day after using it.
Don't know if it is the same over there, but people here often get given Frova pills because they are miles cheaper than Imigran injections or nasal.
Hope it works for you, it has for a few people.

extra water for the wet blanket here--sorry.
Tried frova at $140.00 for 9 rotten pills that didn't work. Supposedly they had a half-life of 28 hours but realistically to keep down beast it lasted about 10. Of course at the end of the 10 the cranial veins were ready to expand back to normal but always went just a wee bit bigger, causing a rebound h/a for me about every time.
Again, it's a triptan.
Keep your finger crossed that MAPS comes up with a workable cure, and not just more band-aids.

I took Frova when I was in cycle. It did shorten the length of the headache. Didn't do much for the pain level, but reduced the time from 1 1/2 hrs down to 13-18 minutes.
I went on a Prednisone taper and have been pf since the first day on the Pred.
Hope you find what you need to fight the beast.

Well, I got some samples of Frova from my doc last week. I had to make sure I hadn't taken any other triptans for at least 24 hours before I tried it, and my chance came when I got hit about 1:45 this morning. I knocked the HA down with O2, and took a Frova. It took a while for it to work (about an hour, compared to less than 15 mins for the newer formulation of Imitrex tabs), but it did keep me PF the rest of the night. Glad I did it, since I have a job interview this morning. I hope it lasts thru the morning, though I don't tend to get HAs during the day as much, nor are they as severe as the night attacks.
If anything comes up, I'll report it.

Frova did nothing for my clusters except giving me migraines in addition to my clusters. Imagine having a cluster attack on one side, a migraine on the other, feed a crying infant who woke up in the middle of the night at the WRONG time, WHILE throwing up into a bucket!
UGH, I never want to go there again!

Larry, not everyone has the same results. Don't be afraid to try a med because someone else had bad luck with it. You never know, it just might help! At least give it a chance. Of course, it's up to you!
