I have a normal headache today for some reason and was wondering if I can take any OTC pain meds for this while taking varapamil?

Probably no reason you can't use an OTC reliever while on Verapamil but call your Dr or Pharmacist if you're concerned. Try not to use anymore than you have to because I used to use a LOT of OTC pain meds for that soreness on the side of my head the morning after a CH and the Dr advised me it may be causing rebound h/a's so I gave them up. No problem mixing these two meds. The general rule-of-thumb re. OTC pain meds: if used 3 or more times a week, regularly, you may have rebound headaches.

Flavin Sorry you are having such a rough time. Everyday headaches are an irritation you can do without. best cures other than OTC drugs are a neck and shoulder massage from someone you find hugely sexy, and drinking lots of water. My GP told me that she reckons most 'normal' headaches are caused by mild dehydration because none of us drink enough. Not sure if it's true, but it works for me. Wishing you PF Wendy

Probably good advice about hydration. Water is good stuff! One note about Ibuprofen and Naproxen: Don't mix them. They can cause stomach bleeding if you mix them. I doubt if you do it once you'll have an immdiate problem, but from what I've read, and been told by my GP, it's not a good combination, and gastric problems can start pretty quickly with those two...

| Ibuprofen, acetemenaphin and asprin can cause rebound headaches, so I would suggest the naproxen sodium for a regular HA. mel
