Well, I did it. Got my trial stimulator today. Will have it for about a week. Hope it works to stop some of the pain. The operation was virtually painless. I have 2 wires in my neck. They ruined my fucking hair! Now, I guess I'll go shave the rest of it off to match the back I'll let ya know more in a couple of days. Anyone have any more questions about the procedure, PM me. Wanna see a pic of the back of my head ? Check it out HERE UNSOLVED the cluster guiniea pig !!

Did I read that correctly? You are only going to have the stimulator for a week? What happens after that? Hope it works for you! Chris

I'll only keep it for a week. It's a 'trial'. If it seems to work, then i'll have the implant in 2-3 weeks. What a bad hair day ! Unsolved

Even though I have this ONS, I've still had shadows everyday except for Friday (which was PF). Never knew a 9 volt battery could give such a jolt !! BTW...I'm the first person to get a Bi-lateral ONS. I get it taken out this Monday. Unsolved

ONSI Failed. Starting new drug tomorrow. For those that respond well to steriods, this drug is also an autoimmune suppressant drug that is steriod free. It is called "Cell Cept", mainly given to transplant recipients to lower risk of organ rejection. Blood tests every week for a while. Hope I don't get sick. Here we go again ! Unsolved

Are you absolutely sure it has failed? If so I am so sorry. I am sure you know best but thought I would mention that Mike's headaches got much worse straight after his ONSI, then settled down when the scar tissue formed around the electrodes and held them in place. Wendy

My leads were 'positional'. If I moved my head in certain ways, it would cause an increase or decrease in electricity. I had a good 'placement' of the electrodes. In other words, the electricty was flowing from the back of my head (on both sides) almost all the way to the front. I was still having headaches. (daily) Cranking up the power did no good. Leaving the power on for days did no good. It just didn't help. It did kinna feel like an electric message though. Too bad the headaches continued. Doc says that patients who respond well to Occipital Nerve blocks have a descent success rate. I've had 5 bi-lateral blocks. The first was a (17 day) success while the last 4 were all failures. The ONSI was at least worth a try. Unsolved

There are several brands of stimulators out there. Where one type doesn't work, maybe another would? I do know that they take 2-3 months for the leads to anchor down. You get that electric feeling immediately, but it may not really help reduce the headaches until some healing time has elapsed and they are strapped down by the scar tissue. They can also reposition those leads... There's an answer out there. Hang on.
