Generic Imitrex - India
« on: Mar 6th, 2004, 9:18am »

India drug patent law differs from the US in that only the process for making a drug is covered, not the drug itself.  For that reason India is a bane of the western pharma industry.

That said, I see that generic Imitrex recently became available at one of the more popular India RX sites.

shoprxonline.com is held in fairly high regard by the hardon-challenged lot, with plenty of lumber resulting from their generic Cialis.  Check them out on groups.google.com

6000mg of the Trex for $255... that is one shitload of Trex.

I will give it a shot.  20 or 30 of the 100's.  Delivery takes about 3weeks, per the messages I see.  God willing I will not need them in 3wks, at which point some lucky CH head in Central PA gets to buy me a beer.

Imitrex 25mg (10 pills)  $35.00 $3.50/pill Add to Cart
Imitrex 25mg (20 pills)  $60.00 $3.00/pill Add to Cart
Imitrex 25mg (30 pills)  $75.00 $2.50/pill Add to Cart
Imitrex 50mg (10 pills)  $45.00 $4.50/pill Add to Cart
Imitrex 50mg (20 pills)  $80.00 $4.00/pill Add to Cart
Imitrex 50mg (30 pills)  $105.00 $3.50/pill Add to Cart
Imitrex 50mg (60 pills)  $180.00 $3.00/pill Add to Cart

Imitrex 100mg (20 pills) $100.00 $5.00/pill Add to Cart
Imitrex 100mg (30 pills) $135.00 $4.50/pill Add to Cart
Imitrex 100mg (60 pills) $255.00 $4.25/pill Add to Cart

They arrived today.  16 days after ordering.  Not bad.

Manufactured by Unimed, which is a subsidiary of Solvay.  Solvay is based out of Belgium, if I am not mistaken.

Each tablet is packaged individually, not unlike an Imitrex sample.

I purchased 20 100mg tablets.  Price was $110 shipped.

The tablets look exactly like the older Imitrex tablets, before they became triangular.  The packages are labeled as 'Sumatriptan Succinate Tablets', 'Suminat 100', and have the normal blah blah on them.

Will give them a crack tonight perhaps.
May also fire them up in my 'grow your own nasal spray' experiment again perhaps.

You are 100% correct.  Funny thing is that my Trex burn rate is far lower than what my insurance covers.  I have a fair stockpile in my warchest.

Guess I did it to try it out for the uninsured among us... call it my good deed for the season.  If it works it is the new cheapest out-of-pocket source of Trex out there by a longshot.

Rock,

Saw a piece on the amount of out of the country meds that are shipped into this country.  The FDA is clamping down.  They are stepping up confiscating shipped drugs and sending them back to the sender, at taxpayers expense.  Of course they are not stopping a large percentage of the total shipped yet, but it is a big concern.  If you get a letter, which they send out as a warning to those who ordered them, rest assured you won't be seeing that order.
It's an idea but someone will lose out someday when they are most anticipating its arrival.  The gov is putting more money into it and will make it more risky.  Some will always get through, but you get one warning letter.
Basically it is because of the bad condition some of the medication arrives in, like not refrigerated when it should have been and high bacteria counts on certain medicines.  Some are a danger, so they are trying to clamp down on all.
Just in case, so you know.

Thx for the info Kevin.

Typically what I get from overseas:
Smart Drugs, such as piracetam and the like.
Antibiotics, in bulk... just because I hate going to the doctor every time I get a scratchy throat.
Premarin, which my wife gets from Canada with a prescription (cheaper than the copay alone in the US).

Out of the dozen or two orders I have placed, one came up missing.

All of them are packaged just like normal letters.  Thin nondescript envelopes, hard to tell from a slightly thicker-than-normal letter.  FDA would have to open a shitload of mail to pick out the drugs.  The ones I get from Europe are actually hand-addressed with residential return addresses.

If only the FDA had important matters to concern themselves with.

Tried one last night.  Impressions:
Chopped one in half.  So we are talking of a 50mg dose here.  $2.50 worth.

HA was at 0500... woke me up.  Not terrible... say a KIP5 about the time I took it.

Acted just like a standard I-Trex tablet.  No real reaction for about 10 minutes, then a 'whoa... there it is', then 60 seconds later the CH is completely gone.

100% satisfied so far.  Take it for what it is worth.

At that rate,  purchasing 80 pills would save someone enough money to pay for a flight to Bombay (currently about $1400).  The federal government can try to block mail shippments to help the profit margin of the pharmaceutical companies, but it is legal to carry in nominal amounts of prescribed drugs when travelling.

Notice how even with Indian pharmaceuticals, the price drops from $3.50 to $3.00 to $2.50 for a 25 mg pill.   They are still making a considerable profit, and the cost of counting the pills and mailing them are large portion of the total cost compared to the cost of the drug.

You can legally bring in a three month supply for your own use.  With a prescription from your doctor for a non-controlled medication they would be very unlikely to give you a hard time.

While you're in India you could pick up a couple of custom-made suits and pairs of shoes and a few shirts made identically to whichever ones you ask them to copy.  The savings from that would cover your other expenses, including sight-seeing, so the trip would be free.

Bring back a few sets of good quality silk curtains for someone willing to pay half of what they cost here and you'll be making money off the trip.

Heh heh.  I will just pay the $10 shipping.  I had no freakin idea pharmaceuticals were in the package until I opened it.  Not marked 'Alert - drugs in here!'.

Charged it on my card.  If I would get an FDA letter, that indicates that I did not get the product... thus I do a chargeback.  Risk of losing funds == 0%.

Just watch out for "counterfeit" drugs. I was reading an article about this recently. It seems that India amongst many others is notorious for producing fake drugs with only traces (if any at all) of the active ingredients and then scamming people into buying over the internet. Glaxo and others have a very serious problem with this as often times people have died from these drugs, especially the injectables. They are apparently made under extremely unhygenic conditions, and some injectables have been found that used "recycled" needles stolen from hospital waste.

You may well have hit on a source of good, cheap imitrex, but I say BEWARE.

What you're saying is true.  Unfortunately the FDA is also saying the same thing about drugs from Canada and it's just not true.  The FDA is losing credibility because of this.  Our system is safer than in some countries where there is little regulation of manufacturers, prescriptions aren't needed except for narcotics, and counterfeit drugs are common.  But Canada just doesn't fit into that category.

Unfortunately the FDA is turning into nothing but a w-h-o-r-e for the International Drug Manufacturing Cartel.

Censoring note:  Unfortunately you can't refer to w-h-o-r-e unmodified without it being changed to "sleeper".

I tend to research the shit out of any overseas supplier before placing my first order.  In this case shoprxonline has a rich history of providing 4+ hour erections to the limp-cock crowd, plus has the strong money back guarantee, plus takes the card.  All bases == covered.

Took another half-tab last night.  Review:
Standard CH.  Woke from sleep.  Say about a KIP5.
Took a split tab... about 50mg.
Kicked in rather quickly for a tablet.  Started taming the beast in about 9 minutes.  Gone in 10 minutes.  Asleep in 11 minutes.

So far 100% hit rate, though I have only tried these twice (one tab split).  Happy as a clam.

This is good news for you. Glad you struck gold.

I just wanted to make sure others were aware of the fake drug scams going on.

The imitrex/imigran tabs do nothing for me, only the injection works for me and the site in India does not seem to supply it in inj form.

How does this product compare with the "regular" imitrex tabs?

By the way, a 4 hour+ boner seems to me to be more of a problem than none at all - what do you during the other 3 hours and 55 mins?   laugh

I had a real problem with the real I-Trex tabs.
The 25mg's tabs were about as effective as Pez.
The 50mg's hit about 60-70% of the time, which sucked because I would normally wait 25+ minutes for them to kick in.

So far both of these doses have hit me in 10 minutes, which, I hate to say, is faster than the 'real' Trex normally does.

I have been doing injections only for the past few weeks... typically .125ml to .200ml from vials.  Love it... 100% success.

You can service all your ladies in 5 minutes?  Yow!  Grin  Those users do rave about the generic Cialis from that site. From shoprxonline...
'Generic Cialis can last up to 24 hours longer than Viagra'
Man oh man (*looks at his pecker... shakes his head*)

I tried the 50mg 6 times and and the 100mgs tabs 6 times back in about 1998. After an hour or more I still had the damn pain worse than when I took them. I thought the higher dose would work but it didn't. A couple of times when I had a kip10+ I threw up about 20 mins after taking the tab and saw it floating in the pan. It had not even disintegrated yet and there goes my 15 dollars down the shitter!

All the nasal spray did was give me a bad taste and no relief. I then reluctantly tried the inj and what a difference!

Your experience so far with the Indian pills sounds good.

By the way I'm 52 and still have some wood left  Cool

I only have one lady to service and thankfully still have some left in reserve just in case. Long may it last.
