it's really getting interesting here at the Harris Hacienda in sunny Sarasota. See, my beloved and I read about this nasal spray called sinus buster. It contains freakin' red pepper juice ---Capsaicin, of all things! Well, as only CH folks (I'm a caregiver, not a sufferer) can attest, wouldn't you ingest and/or shoot nasally ANYTHING to stop these bastards? Okay, I can't find anything today locally, so I ordered it off the internet. In the interim, however....well.... we have begun placing tiny amount of cream on qtip and applying same inside the nose on the side where the headaches are. And you know what? It is a lot less painful than the CH's, and hubby says he can endure it daily if need be, if, of course, it WORKS. AND you can be sure we will report if it does or doesn't. I'm sure someone has already tried it - anyone? Thanks guys.

As odd as it sounds I have heard of capsasin being used. So it's not unheard of for me. It's also used for topical pian relief creams.

Lots of posts about this on the old message board. It has a reasonably good track record.

I just heard of this this morning on Howard Stern. I do not know if this works, Let me know if this is a possibility for treatment.

Capsaicin (not Sinus Buster) was mentioned at the Rome conference that Don attended with other OUCH reps last year. Dr N.T. Matthew from Houston Headache Clinic said: New treatments are Vanilloid Receptor Antagonists - Capsaicin (can give intense irritation of nasal cavity), Civamide Nasal Spray (a significantly less irritant than Capsaicin. Gives significant reduction in h/a over 21 days. Currently running a very small study on this – but more volunteers desperately needed!). Wendy

It works. Please do yourself a favor and try it if you have not done so. By now, we all know that not everything works for everyone however.... for 10 dollars (hundreds of sprays, I would guess in the bottle) and a money back guaranty, why not try it? We are overjoyed with this miraculous, natural product. The beast is still present - you know that spider crawly feeling when he is scratching at the door? it's still there, but my hubby takes a sniff when he feels it and the devil remains dormant, trapped and TOTALLY SUBDUED, and I am talking about seconds here, not minutes or hours or days. It's really almost too good to be true, I keep waiting for it to quit working (thank you imitrex, prednisone, lithium, verapmil, etc..) and it just keeps going. Okay, it's only been seven days but you all can relate to the sleep deprivation and how much better you feel when you get it! This being said, I am sure that there will be some people that it will absolutely do nothing for. But do yourself a favor and try it. I did it myself - (migraine) and guess what? it's not bad. a 2 second burn, just like hot chinese mustard and then it rapidly fades. A tip: don't fight the burn, keep breathing thru your nose. Your instinct will be to breath thru your mouth, however, that seems to prolong the burn. The burn is NOTHING compared to the beast anyway. Good Luck!
