Just wondering if anybody here has tried Sinus Buster yet? I just heard about it and I wanted to know if it was a hoax or not.

If you're referring to that capsaicin spray being sold by a personal trainer named Wayne who says he has "cluster migraines", there was a thread a while back about it. You can buy capsaicin ointments at the drugstore. It's derived from capsicum, which makes peppers hot. Capsaicin supposedly works, by using up the neurotransmitters by causing pain. My neuro mentioned it and there is a blind study being done on it now. It also is supposed to burn and sting a lot but I suppose it wouldn't work if it didn't. Maybe you could make your own by buying some capsaicin and putting it in a saline nasal spray. I have also read that you can boil hot peppers or pepper powder and skim it off the top. My primary attitude towards "Wayne" (or whatever his name is) is that he should be selling it at cost to fellow ClusterHeads if it works. I can't imagine coming up with something that helps with these things and then making a profit off it it selling it to other ClusterHeads. A decent person couldn't do that. He was selling it on Ebay, too.

No, it's not a headache--it's a Stage Ten Primary Chronic Periodic Idiopathic Trigeminovascular Cephalalgic Crisis.

Topamax wasn't effective for me after around 10 months. I developed my first kidney stone problems at 9 months. I am having laser surgery for kidney stone fragmentation this week. I added depakote in addition to topamax after 10 months. I haven't had a CH after that but I am also taking Vioxx too due to the kidney stone problems, so I'm unsure what med combo is actually working. I plan on getting off topamax hopefully due to the stones. Wish you luck.
