Well, Ron, I am happy you are painfree now; I am also glad you stat that it is the cure for you. Clusters attack in a great many ways, and what works this time may not work next time around. So we tend to be a bit wary of the word "cure". Others here have tried Botox with different results. But let's hope you will remain painfree.

Ron Like Ave, I'm really pleased for you. The anecdotal evidence suggests however that while Botox injections have had quite a degree of success with migraine sufferers, the same is not true of CH sufferers who have tried it. Also, (yes I know I'm Mrs Over-cautious!) we have not had even one generation yet of people using Botox to tell us what injecting a poison does to our bodies (which makes the people who have their faces injected every three months for cosmetic reasons brave as far as I'm concerned!). Doctors are only hazarding guesses at the moment. Hope you continue to be well Wendy

| 3-6 months is hardly cured. However, PF is PF. Kick ass that you found some relief! Chris

| I wouldn't exactly call them brave, but that is whole other topic. Now using something like that for medical purposes, that is brave, and I'm glad Botox is working for you Ron. Ozzy

Ron, I am so happy to hear that you have had success with Botox. I also have had fantastic success with Botox but it is not a cure. Every 3 months I'm injected with 100 units (which is the maximum.) I am always aware that the Beast may return in full force regardless of the relatively amazing relief I have enjoyed from Botox in conjunction with a few other meds I've been taking. People are correct in saying that it is not the treatment for everyone and that Botox does not have a great track record of helping CH sufferers. My neuro was part of nation wide Botox study and he said the preliminary results indicated that Botox was best at helping people who have migraines once in a while. Again, people are right in saying that doc's don't know exactly why Botox works. Botox has increased the quality of my life significantly and I'm happy to hear that it works well for you. It has significantly reduced the number, severity, and frequency of CH's, migraines, and tension ha's I have. (Yes I a blessed to have all 3 types.) It has also loosened up the stiffness in my neck and upper back which was caused by two bad car accidents. I respect people's fears of injecting "poison" into their bodies every 3 to 6 months. Because Botox is a "poison" only neurologists trained in injecting Botox for the purpose of treating migarines and CH are qualified to do so. Not every neuro is qualified and some neuro don't "believe" in Botox. (Yes, I'm sure there are some shady doc's out there who are using Botox who aren't qualified.) There are risks with any medication. I'm very skeptical about trying certain CH meds because I'm afraid of their side effects but to me Botox seems safe. Everyone comfort level with certain meds is different. Again, I am so happy that you have found relief from CH pain. I wish you continued pain free days and nights.

BE CAREFUL, do not get your hopes up, it is good that you are pain free, however you might be mistaken your cure for remision. I have had 18 months of pain free days at a time and remembering how overjoyed I was that my problem was all done only to get hit again!!!
