Hi Guys The drug that was offered to me in suppository (which i refused due to been told was too slow) has been given to me in tablet form, It is Cafergot Tablets Each tablet contains 1mg of ergotamine tartare PhEur and 100mg of caffeine PhEur. The instructions were to take one or two at onset with a max of 4 in 24 hours or 8 in any one week. The devil returned last night and i tried these tablets. I am going back to the doctors today to give them back to her in suppository form!!! They made the devil kick around for nearly six hours. I was given Imigran nasal spray in case of severe pain (doctors are great eh!) i used both of these no no effect. I am going to request my Imigran injections back again and enquire about 02. Enough is Enough Jim

I used caffergot for years. It's a very old treatment. There is much better stuff out there now. My attacks were following a time system, so I started taking a half of a suppository (which works much more quickly than pills and if you vomit, this stays in your system) a half hour before the attack was scheduled. This prevented the attack from coming on. This worked for one year. The problem is that your body gets used to the caffiene and when you have to come off the drug, your body rebounds back into a new attack season. This year I had to be put on prednisone to break the cycle. Most doctors do not want to prescribe caffergot. Be very careful if using this drug. The rebounds were worse than anything I have ever experienced, and I've been a sufferer since 1967.
