Can a polyp in the nasal passageway be a trigger?

I'm a long time sufferer of cluster headaches, having had them on a cyclical basis since my early teens. The cluster headaches have recently been coming on a daily basis again after having been in remission for two years. I'm a novice in understanding my headaches as I've only recently been diagnosed correctly, but am eager to look for a permanant cure, if that exists. From everything I've read, there is no real permanant cure. When I first started seeing a doctor about these headaches, I had a scan done on my head. It was discovered that I had a polyp in my upper left nasal passageway. This is also the side of my head where the headaches hit, as I always feel intense stabbing pressure in the left eye. Is it possible that the polyp is the cause of the headaches? Perhaps more importantly, would eliminate CH?

It is a possible trigger however it'snot likely, sorry I couldn't help my self. Although not likely as this demon comes from a deep area of the brain. We have heard tales of peeps having all kinds of surgery to the nose and sinus to no avail, read this site, buttons on the left. After you do you will most likely know more about the subject than your Doctor. Read, Read Read Lee

I had endoscopic sinus surgery at the sugegstion of my ENT doctor to cure what at the time we thought were sinus headaches. A polyp was removed as well as 2 other procedures done up there. I no longer snore as loudly, but the headaches persisted. I later learned they were cluster headaches. Melatonin seems to have ended the headaches that troubled me for years. If you really do have cluster I seriously doubt any sinus surgery will help.
