Small Doses of Imitrex

I was intrigued to find the tip on dismantling Statdose pens and using a Q-tip to inject smaller doses. Did you know that Imitrex is also sold in 6MG vials? It would seem that this is a very easy way to give yourself a half dose. Just draw half the amount into the syringe and save the rest for the next CH. Has anyone requested vials? Other than a fear of needles are there any reasons why this wouldn't work to fight more CH using less meds and getting further before insurance companies cut off the meds. Comments are welcome.

Thanks for the info, but there are many of us that already use the vials. And, when you are hurting bad.....there is no such thing as fear of needles. PFDAN, Tracey

I don't use a separate vial. A regular shot is already 6MG. I just use the same one (1,2,or3) times depending on what I estimate I need at the time to fight off the beast. Usually I use 1/2 at a time. The problem is when I use less, many times the Beast returns sooner like it did today for me. Injected 1/3 dose 4 times today.
