I have only tried it once and it helped some. I have taken the shots before, but they really mess me up. The spray may be more effect than the pill, but I don't think it will be better than the shot. Alot of people here try different things and I am sure someone will have a better answer for you.

Never cared for the imitrex. Nasal or otherwise. The shots worked quickly but were always followed by an attack worse than the one I was treating. The nasal spray took a bit longer to work, and would likely make me toss my cookies once it hit my stomach. Rebounds with the nasal spray too. I've pretty much sworn off the Imitrex at this point. Over the 20 + years I've been suffering from this condition, I have found that the medication I've taken really just extends my episodes. My treatments of choice are 02 and clusterbusters now. I just wish I would have discovered them years ago.

Rebounds for some. I've taken plenty of Imitrex and never had a rebound... that I knew of. The nasal spray is effective but slower. ~10-15 minutes. (I felt the effects of the shot immediately, but I hate shots.) So, basically, you need to try it yourself and find out. Then come back and tell us.

well, i the spray for the first time. not long after the first post. it took me about 20 min before it started to kick in. that was 2 hours ago. so far so good. i dont want to anticipate a rebound, with my luck, if i do, i'll get one. so, i'll just go about my day as "normal"

I would recommend amerge over imitrex - if you can get it.

I read you can even take Amerge as a preventative now? Is this true? It makes me puke though!

Some people take it before bed so they can get 5-6 hours of sleep.
