Clomid: latest boom or bomb?

The last hope I placed in conventional med was in the multiple head injections with that poison (what the hell is the name of it--the bottulism? A or B) that was supposed to kill the pain for several months. Perhaps it helped the migrainers but apparently was another wet noodle for the real sufferers here. Providing the news is accurate, and I believe it to be, my current hopes are on the Clomid trials and the medicine itself. Heck, I'll take an accidental find for pain relief no matter how it manifests itself. Since my sister was recently taking this drug for pregnancy help she informed me that there was a limited time usage but I've been unable to confirm this. Anyone have some information icing for this cake?

Well... i have now gone 4 weeks cluster free. The only thing I can find in the documentation is that over a period of time if you don't get pregnant from Clomid there is no point in continuing it. I haven't read anything (yet) saying that you can't take it for extended periods of time). Dr. Gladstone at Mayo said that at 4 weeks he would start witing this up (since there will be 2 of us under his care that have had relief). I will ask him Monday if I can post anything from him to this board or OUCH. Mark!

Great news Mark! Hope it works as well for you too, Unsolved. I've kept Mopar informed about this and he's going to ask his neuro about it. We'll be watching this space! Thank you for sharing this curious and exciting news. Fingers and toes crossed here - firebrix

I am so happy that the clomid has worked for you so far, I hope it continues... I didn't even ask my dr. if I could up dosage if it started to slip, but so far it hasn't any way. 4 weeks and counting! Mark

Heading to the Primary Care Sloth on Monday and will twist his arm (physically if necessary) for the 5 day trail prescription of the esteemed Clomid. If I find out that there's relief available and red tape between me and the prize, you'll all see me on the evening news. nots

Unfortunately, it has been a bomb for me. Not a nuclear one but at least a cherry bomb. Have had 2 attacks in 24 hours without triggers and yesterday I had half a nostril stuffed ALL day which is odd. Usually it'll stuff a bit, then go away unless there's an actual attack, in which it's completely clogged for that duration. Guess it's on to plan R, cause Plan A, B, C, D, etc...have all not worked. Jesus, this is getting oooooooold. (Day 3 of 50mg Clomid)

That's it. Had a mean one at 4:00 yesterday and an absolute Killer at 2:00 AM. Thought I had died and gone to hell. Clomid ain't for me but it doesn't mean that some people won't be able to find relief with it. See you at the next ray of hope. nots
