Well, went to another doctor yesterday.  She gave me a few samples to try.  One is Relpax (eletriptan HBr)

http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic3/relpax.htm

40mg pills.

The other is Maxalt-MLT (riztriptan benzoate)

http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic2/rizatrip.htm

10mg dissolving tablets.

She also gave me another prescription for Blockadren, which worked well in the past as a preventative.

As you can tell by the actual medicinal name of the first two drugs that you listed, they are triptans.  All of these abortive drugs, the two you listed as well as imitrex, zomig, and amerge are all in the same category.  These are 5-HT (serotonin) receptor agonist, meaning they stimulate the devil out of those recetors causing very focussed vasoconstriction.  The fact that you've been given a new one either means that others have been less effective for you or another big pharma has entered the scene trying to profit from our pain.  It's not a bad thing though, some will work better than others due to selectivity and differences in receptors from person to person. Relpax works for me, just takes a little to kick in though but is 95% effective with relieving the pain and about 70% with complete abortion of an attack. Unfortunately triptans are very expensive...

Maxalt never worked for me, but it takes a little over an hour for it to be completely absorbed into the system.  That is not saying that it takes an hour to get relief though.  BTW, the pills absorb slightly faster than the MLT version.
