Has anyone tried nerve blocking?

I am going to go through a surgery next week. It consists of blocking a facial nerve. Doctor says he has made several like this one and has found that 3 out of 5 patients get complete relief (ie no more CH episodes). Has anyone heard/tried this procedure? Thanks

I have never had the "Block" you are asking about...but had Nerve Blocks of the Cervical, Lumbar, & Occipital nerve for reasons other then CH. But from what I recall on this ...STAY AWAY from this procedure. All you get is a semi-numb face with Clusters. Hopefully someone who has gone through the procedure can give you more insight. Anyone??? JIm

I've had nerve blocks.... Unlike a gamma knife (which it doesn's sound like you're having), the nerve block is where they go in with a needle and inject anesthetic along the nerve. I had one in the front and two in the back. They lasted about 2 weeks for me and then back to regular headaches. Mark
