Does it have anything to do with the Glaxo Wellcome Patient Assistance Program I made a posting on a few days ago?

I too am in the military and I have been prescribed 16 injections for this month alone. All totalled, I have 5 refills on this. Although they cannot be refilled before the end of the month, I could get more if I needed it...military docs and our lovely insurance company do not want a "refused medical care" reputation I don't think. It helped to show a HA log to the doc which illustrated the frequency and that 8 injections would NO WAY cover 1 month. Good luck! Chris

A box of two 6mg vials for injections costs me a $30 copay or $130 CASH! This is really difficult financially considering I explode with 2 to 5 CH daily. Would you believe my insurance only covers TWO REFILLS PER MONTH. Yesterday, took 17 Excedrin Migraines with no luck AKA can't afford the $130 everyday.

| Why take something like that in excess when it doesn't even work? Just curious.

It looks as though this topic has drawn some interest again. I made a reply some time back under free imitrex-yeah!!! Time to give the information again. Glaxo Wellcome has a patient assistance program. I first became aware of this through my health care provider. My insurance company refused to cover Imitrex injections, and the provider submitted me to the program. I was able to obtain about 10 refills before I ended up being disquallified due to income being too high. (they continuosly monititor your income by having you submit copies of your pay-stubbs, medical bills, pharmacy bills, etc.) The only information I can provide is the number for the Glaxo Wellcome Patient Assistance Program 800 number from the back of my pharmacy card. 800-722-9294 I kid you not, fellow clusterheads. I was able to get 3 refill kits for a co-pay of $5.00, 3 different times, for the grand total of $15 before I got put through the entire review process and rejected for income limits. That's over $1000.00 worth of Imitrex for almost free before they figured out I make $200 a month too much to qualify for their program. Please do yourself a favor if your insuance doesn't cover Imitrex, or you don't have insurance. Contact your healthcare provider about this program and see if you qualify. Steven

Have any of you thought of asking your doctor for samples? My doctor gives me Imitrex for free in any form I want, I have injection, pills and inhalers all for free. He will give me Zomig too I just know that I can't mix the zomig and Imitrex together.
