While Chloral Hydrate has been around for centuries, it is known as an anasthetic. It is still prescribed, very rarely, for sleep (I believe). It is a bit toxic. However, I wonder if it as been tried for CHs. Anyone know? -HypnoticFreddy

I have tried chloral hydrate in a suppository form. It did relax me and of course put me to sleep. But, no relief from CH. It also is highly addictive. A major side effect is upset stomach. Good luck if you try it. As we all know through this website, some meds work for some while it doesn't work for others. Good luck.
