I can't recall ... lol..  if I lose any sense of concentration or memory when I'm taking my verap.  Though I'm only on 240mg per day (I can never remember if it's the SR or the ER version though).

When my next cycle comes around, which might be sooner than I thought, I'll have to keep tabs on that one.

720/day. I notice no marked memory or concentration effects.

I was thinking today that I seem to function through all the various meds I try for CH while others report disruptive side-effects. I write it off to a past life of many years of illicit drug and alchohol use. I somehow learned to function in various states of mental disrepair....and now just slide through any weirdness that the "legal" drugs offer.

I been down so goddamned long.... it looks like up to me.

I currently take 300 mg sustained release (have been taking for 1.5 years) - no problems for me.  I do, however, have a dramatic loss of memory and concentration just before a cycle starts and this lasts to the end of a cycle.  That along with fatigue/depressoin are sure signs a cycle is about to start.  Just curious, are you eposidic or chronic?

I've taken 3x180 mg for 8-10 weeks, used verapamil on last 3 or 4 cycles (episodic).

I sense no loss of concentration or memory due strictly to the verapamil.  I do feel a slow-down during the first few weeks of starting verapamil.

Apart from the verapamil, however, there is some loss of concentration in general with CH, IMO.  This seems to coincide with increased irritability and depression which may either be purely psychological or a chemical mechanism associated with CH.

I'm 24 years old and my memory is already shit.  I'm not sure if it's due to Verapamil, Celexa or simply age.  What did I just say?    Grin

No, and on 480mg SR for now.  Topamax on the other hand, definately killed my concentration/short-term memory.

I have taken Verampamiel slow relees at almost all dosages the hyest 800mg per day. At the moment I am just taking 80 mg a day.and to my surprise it works better. I had to dramaticly reduse the dosage because I was  totaly blocked ( constipation). Wonder why the neuros always start with 3 x 80 and not 2 x 40. The memory los and lak of concentration in my case is due to CH. I am cronic and in my cicel within cronic Ch I am no goed for anything. During these periods I often have difficulty keeping a normal conversation.

so saw the neuro again today, he said that the memory issue is caused by the cycle itself and partially by the verapamil, cutting down to 2x 120 for three weeks and than 1x120 for another three weeks and that's when I should know if I am through or not...

Yep.  But I don't take verapimil anymore (not in YEARS)..... ???  Have taken a HUGE assortment of preventatives.   So, either it's the meds or it's a sub-symptom of clusters. Wink  I wonder what a clusterhead's concentration and memory capabilities are after having clusters but NO meds....

I'll be curious as to what your Neuro says about this....It has been just this last few weeks (on Verapamil) that I've been forgetting some stupid things at work.....Drives me crazy....Might just be the exhaustion from my long 12 week cycle....just ended a couple of days ago...yippee...keeping my fingers crossed.....but still forgetting stupid things....feels like oldstimers disease.... Shocked Shocked Shocked
Blessings,
Karen
