Just doing my research for my docs appt tomorrow...I have Prednisone, verapamil and imitrex at the top of my list....... But i want to be informed on the other drugs out there too i was reading up on Topamax....... These were a few side affects that would concern me if the doc should suggest this med......anyone have any of these side affects? · confusion, difficulty concentrating or decreased memory; · speech or language difficulties; or ***· changes in behavior, depression, nervousness, or agitation. THanks in advance!

Yes, I had pretty much all those sides...you can also add change in the way things taste and EXTREME sleepiness to that list of fun stuff. Needless to say, I came off that med due to side effects after being on it for 2 weeks. The side effects lasted about 1 month. Chris

I started at 25mg daily for one week, 50 mg for one week to 100mg daily until the end of the cycle. It was like Alhzeimers in a bottle. I also became severly depressed. I had weird tingling in my mouth and eye problems. BUT, after about 3 weeks the side effects (except for eye problems, eyes got worse) did subside for the most part. I still was a bit fatigued though. I must say, I didn't like the effects of topomax except it and verapamil did stop my HAs almost completely. I never had such an easy cycle, ever. I only hope and pray to be so fortunate again next time. I don't have to work fulltime though. I work part time from home and homeschool, so for me I could stay on it and deal with the effects. Someone who must drive alot or work fulltime..I think they could have a hard time if they must concentrate alot or if safety is a concern. I'm not even sure if I will use topomax next time or try something else. It's a tough call because it really does help some of us.

I had the same "Alzheimer's" side effects and couldn't do my job (Electrical Engineer) worth a shit. Topomax also makes beer, Coke, and Pepsi tatse very bad.

Abortives annd preventatives.... JIC he doesn't know where to start, I know he is going on last years notes from the nuero BUT I was very limited on what I could take last year due to other meds I was on....this time I am not limited at all.
