Yep, had it done. Several shots in my forehead, two in the occipital region and a couple in the neck a few years ago. While it didn't help with my clusters, it did provide some relief from the neck pain and smoothed out the little frown lines in my forehead that come from clusters...that was nice  . I talked to several people beforehand at the office and it helped them. They were both migraine sufferers though. The Doctor I saw actually had headaches himself, and injected the serum every three months himself. Botox serum is expensive, about $350 a bottle, and they can't save it if you don't use the whole thing. Still cheaper than most headache meds. It is made from botulism, but there is very little risk as long as the Doctor knows what he is doing. The key is to get the serum in the right spots. Too far down on your face could mean a saggy muscle (temporary) but there was no major risks. I was lucky, my insurance covered the cost of the serum as a medication, thanks to my Doctor. It is considered experimental, though, and most insurances won't. The injection I had done at a local plastic surgery clinic for $150, which was out of pocket expense that wasn't covered. The results are temporary, so if it helps, you will have to have it done every three months. Is it worth trying? Yeah, I would consider trying it, especially if your Doc is comfortable with is as a treatment option. This si used as one of the major courses of tretment at many headache clinics. Good luck, V

Is this really painful to do? I absolutely hate needles! I can deal with little sticks, but big ones that really hurt,,,I will pass out. I know to some they'd rather deal with this pain than CH, but I'd really have to consider it carefully if too much pain was involved in something that may or may not work.
