ANYBODY EVER TRIED PROVIGIL?

I went to the doc today and talked to him about the whole low seratonin level thing and he gave me a prescription for provigil.  He said it is used for narcolepsy and can regulate seratonin levels.  Has anyone ever tried it?  It is expensive, and I hate to waste the money on something that is definitely not going to work, since I have the old standby's, imitrex and oxygen.  He also gave me samples of replax and frova, two other tirptian's.  I hate to try anything that may not work, because then I will have to suffer the pain for hours.

Hi Tessa.  I have heard of Provigil and was wondering if/how it may effect CH.  I've never heard of anyone actually trying it for CH.  It is a relatively new medication and you are the first one that I've heard to give it a try.  Let me know how it goes... I am VERY interested to hear if it helps you any (I hope its not as disappointing as the SSRIs).  I try to keep my eye open for new meds because more likely than not any new 'CH med' will be an already existing med used for something else.

Steve; I'm working on my insurance company to get this medication approved, I'm sure they will in a few days...Always A wait.  I will let you know how it works as soon as I try it.  However, I am skeptical, since the side effects from this med are nervouness and accelerated heart rate.  It sounds like it works more like an anti-deppressant, which I have had no luck with.  But you never know until you try......
