I know this is pretty vague, but... I am supposed to have a treatment tomorrow where they stick something up my nose to anestethise (sp?) my ganglia??? Anybody ever have this done? Did it work? Any other comments? I am leaving in about a week for my trip to Arizona to the Scottsdale Mayo Clinic for my eval on Occipital Nerve Stimulation, also. Mark

Probably it was lidocaine or some other local anasthetic. I wonder...... -HypnoticFreddy

Well, I had the procedure today... The Dr. who I consulted with was not the anestheseologist (or however you spell it). They didn't stick it up my nose... What they did was put an injection through my cheek, diagonally up. They used an x-ray to monitor the progress and injected something like lidocaine at various intervals. I had a CH on my right side and the treatment stopped it. The question is for how long??? It was somewhat painful even with a general anesthetic and now that the numbness has warn off my face is rather sore. Mark

Sounds very uncomfortable. But sure hopes it lasts a long, long time.

Yeah... But... I haven't had a CH in 3 days!!! I'm chronic and without meds never go more than 1 day without one. I am still voting for the occipital nerve stimulation (which I'm being evaluated for a week from Tuesday), but if this will buy me some time... it was worth it. BTW... My jaw still hurts from the procedure. Mark

Mark: When you say evaluation, what are they going to do? Are you flying there for an interview, the psych eval, or the actual practice implant procedure? DId they say which device they plan to implant? V
