It's my duty to all of u...

I feel that it's my duty to all of you to start the following discussion, and really look forward to what you all have to say about this:

I have been doing much research and reading on different types of headaches and possible causes and i have to share this with all.

I recently asked my pcp for a bloodtest for std's to find out if i had any. I wanted to know if i had any form of herpes or hiv. So, she did a blood test for hsv type 1(oral herpes), hsv type 2(genital herpes) and hiv.
Now, my results came back negative for hiv, but positive for both types of herpes.  Considering I never had a known outbreak of any kind, besides an occasional cold sore on my lip, I did not understand this.

So, needles to say questions to doc and more internet research on herpes virus'.
All doc say's to me is, Kim, u have antibodies in your blood for both types of herpes, which only means you have been exposed to both types of virus'...hopefully, u will not have an outbreak. (ok, this helped...not!).
Internet research...1 out of 5 people carry herpes
and 90% of these people do not even know they have the virus. Well, this is believable considering that i did not even know i was carrying this virus, right?
Next point..Herpes Zoster(shingles) has been known to cause headaches in the people who come down with shingles....so, my point being...

Since, the herpes virus' go into hiding into our nervous system when it is not active, isn't it possible that I and others may have a cluster of lesions on our trigeminal nerves....? Mabey these lesions are in our brains? or atleast in mine? I am thinking, since i never have had a lesion down there and only minor cold sore problems, but definately have antibodies in my blood, mabey my lesions are on my left trigeminal nerve?
I think i have a valid argumentative discussion here.

Since, I have done this research, I have read that L-lysine is a great dietary suppliment for people with herpes. So, what does kim do...go out and buy a bottle of 1000mg of L-Lysine.  Pop one every morning, have been for the last two weeks.  Goin on day 5 of no headache.  Coincidence? I hope not....

Still searching for our cure,
Kim

I hope it's not a coincidence either, Kim - for your sake!

I have been tested for HIV (routine with pregnancy) and was negative but I have no idea about the other stuff.

Is the L-Lysine found at a GNC type store?

Hmmmmmm,
Interesting, have you ever had the Chicken Pox? Its the same virus as shingles. I had a case of shingles about a year ago, across my face and head. Terrible afflication, took massive amounts of steroids and acyclovir to control. It even left leisons on my eye on the affected side. I am going to have laser surgery later this year to clear it up and get rid of my glasses at the same time. Strangley enough, within a month of the shingles outbreak I went into the worst cycle I had experienced in many years...really bad CH...lasted over three months....and I ain't stopped shadowing since either....hmmmmmmm.  ???

Still searching too!
