I have been suffering for 12 years - this is the longest though - 14 weeks - at least 4-6 a day!! times are tuff - saw a new dr says he wants to try a neurostimulator?? or activa therapy ?? anyone ever hear of this at all/ Please let me know I am scheduled for surgery for June 30th. write to me asap - please i'm at my wits end!! kcacrec@attbi.com

Is the nerve stimulator the nerve vibrator ? One of the ones giving electrical impulses to the nerve through an implanted device? There should be info on it in the archives and probably at OUCH's site too.

Welcome!!!! I don't have any info on the treatments you are considering, but you have my support and good, warm, vibes. I'm new to CH & this MB. I do know that the Beast has wicked effects on how one thinks. Don't give up!! Please keep us updated and vent all you need. Wishing you PFDAN's, Kate

This is lifted from a presentation on Current Concepts in Pain Management from 1998. We used to believe that destruction of the pathways of pain transmission could alliviate the pain. This has proven to be wrong. Due to the plasticity of our nervous system, the pain relief achieved by neuroablation is always short lived.
