After 30 years of CHs, I've just discovered that a bag of frozen peas held right over the painful spot will abort the headache in about 10 - 15 minutes. Worth a try - and cheap!!

The wheel keeps getting reinvented--and glad you found this little trick!

Couple of years or go, this was the topic of several messages--along with someone who used to stick his head into the freezer during an attack!

frozen corn works really well too.  (not on the cob, though - that will just piss you off.)

I keep 3 of those gel-filled ice bags that never really quite freeze in the freezer at all times for Mike.

Another big plus is that the gel bags don't spoil from the constant thaw/freeze cycle. This is important in the brewcrew household when it comes time to have frozen peas or corn for dinner. ;D

Margi, it was actually frozen corn I tried the first few times. I grabbed the frozen peas by mistake in the dark & they worked just as well.
