I have taken prednisone many times to break the cycle. I personally dont remember if I had muscle weakness.. I did swell up like a tic and I also had achey joints (from the swelling) but not weakness. Im starting prednisone today as a matter of fact... Ill pay attention and see if I have weakness and Ill let you know. Maybe you should address this with your physician or maybe call the pharmacist and ask them.. I wouldnt ignore it.. good luck

Hi Wes. Yes, I have experienced EXTREME muscle weakness and soreness from prednisone. It was difficult to get up from a sitting position to a standing position. It's not normal and the docs didn't know what to say. I don't know what else to tell you.

I just finished taking a round of prednisolone and I did have muscle aches. Your muscle aches are probably caused by your headaches. My nuerologist told me that my muscles were tight due to the headaches and that can cause your symptoms. I will tell you, the day after I finished the prednisolone I got the worst headache ever, and it lasted all day. So I can say it worked but when you finish the medication watch out!!!!

| I had the extreme joint pain described by a couple of other above. It felt like my ankle, knees, elbows, wrists were broken all at the same time... could hardly move. It went away after a couple of days.

Hi Wes. I just recently started taking predisone & I have noticed the muscle weakness as well. It is mostly in my thighs when walking, but I also have some pretty significant jaw fatigue......It's gotta be the prednisone because I've never experienced it before and I couldn't imagine the verapamil causing it. Prednisone can cause a whole range of side effects. Michelle

Hi Wes, Sorry for responding so late........To answer your question, yes!!! I've also had the same problem with another steroid, dexamethasone. I get extreme fatigue and muscle weakness, especially in my legs. As if the ch weren't enough! I tend to fall down alot from the muscle weakness in my legs. I'd talk to your doctor because I don't think it's very common. Good Luck! Joanie
