Ok, just as I figured, I had about a 7 last nite (higher dose of Verapamil and l0 mg prednisone may be starting to kick in).  I took a Relpax and I THINK it worked.  We were working our way up to a 10, had an icepack on my neck and fell asleep about 5-10 mins after taking it (???)  Woke back up and realized my h/a was gone.  It obviously worked as I was able to fall asleep ~ I guess. lol.  Will keep you posted on this one because I believe it did work and QUICKLY (keyword here!LOL).

Ok, I feel a bit redundent about this.  But supposedly this Relpax is the new 'Imitrex, Amerge, Frova, etc.'

Just had a larger-than-life '10'.  Took a Vicodin and Relpax and NOTHING!  Got sick and it h/a lasted 1-1/2 hours.  Not sure which to refill now cause I'm out....

Amerge, Frova (supposedly longer acting) or the Relpax???

Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated!!

Your prednisone seems very low at 10 mg.  Most Drs prescribe up to 60 mg with no problem.  Mine will put me on 100 mg for 10 days without hesitation.  Will stop th H/As cold in 24-36 hours.  Granted it will only stop the beast while you are on it but it gives some time for other meds to kick in.   Check with your Dr.
Hope you are pain free soon!!

I just started Relpax and it seems to work on all except the Kip 10'rs. I hate the taste of the Imitrex spray so I'm hoping it's the real deal...

I cycled 3 times a year (1-4 months per) unitl I went on Neurontin in July 2001.   Since then whenever I started what seemed like the beginning of cycle I started to ramp up on Neurontin. (dosage is up to 900 mg 3 times per day).  Each time I did not reach maximum dosage before my cyle seemed to peter out.  The I would wean myself of Neurontin.  Started a cycle beginning of this April that got past the shadow stage, but only had 4 kip 10s, and now am just about out of cycle (6 weeks).  In past owuld have 2-3 kip 10s per day.  So I believe the Neurontin has been successful (FOR ME) in stopping all cycles but 1, and reducing the degree of my headaches in the most recent.
Warning - I became somewhat narcoleptic.  There were times I sat down, and 20 minutes later would wake up.  At work would walk around anytime felt it come on, but sometimes didn't realize I was drifting off, and woke with a start.  Not good times.

neurontin I was taking it, its a drug used for seizure . I took it and I did not like the way it made me feel, tired and depreesed. I did the wrong thing and just stopped taking it cold turkey. I tried to kill myself. Warning don't stop cold turkey go off it slow when and if you do.

I don't think it did any good for me. The verapmil and imitrex was what helped me.
