Asthma meds

Newly diagnosed w/CH. Have had severe asthma X6 or 7 years. I know prednisone is listed as a possible preventive for CH. Has anyone found it useful. The doctor I went to last week was at least concerned enough that he got out a medical book on headaches. He said the symptoms I describe (my intro post on general topics board describes my painful introduction to CH) matched the CH description in the book and we spent a good half hour talking about my choices for medication. He gave me a free sample of ADVAIR (a synthetic corticosteroid). We are hoping this can help relieve both the current frequent Asthma and the clusters. He is not an expert on headaches but will listen to my input and research. I go to Community Health clinic. Cant afford specialist. Can anyone give feedback?
I thank the spirits I found you this week. The front page of this website scared the bejesus out of me. Am feeling more hopeful after reading your posts and experiencing you sense of humor. Thnx to all

Predisone is the only steroid I have heard of people trying.  Switch to predisone that has a very high success rate with ending the episode.  Sorry to hear you can't get to see a neuro but glad you got a dr. that will listen.  With the info on this site you can keep your dr. going for years with ideas.  You must read up and become knowledgeable so you can teach him then.  Good luck.

Sorry, I actually meant to ask if anyone had used any other Corticosteriods or a synthetic corticosteroid and found them useful.
My brain has been upsidedown ever since this @#*&$#pain started. Even when it stops I feel droopy, fuzzy brained and wasted. not sleeping doesnt help.
Is getting better though. Either I am doing something right or am coming to the end of this episode. This am was able to just sit up in bed and wait out the pain for about 10 minutes then went back to sleep. When I woke later I just felt a little hung over but the bad pain was not there.
Still would like to know if anyone else has used a synthetic corticosteroid.
