Hi, I'm new here and I need some feedback.

I have suffered from this disease for the last four years of my life.  I've tried everything - new bed, all kinds of drugs - muscel relaxants (most  effective was flexeril) to imitrex (for me it was a bomb).  Yesterday I wanted to die - I seriously contemplated suicide.  I took an imitrex and after about an hour I was able to drive  myself to the drug store.  Picked Excedrin Quicktabs and popped two in my mouth - taste bad - but they worked and since 11:00 am yesterday until 3:0opm today I was pain free.  Took two more at 3:00 pm today (felt the pain coming back)  and  I am happy and painfree.  Anyone else have this experience?

Hi Summer, welcome to CH.com.
When you say you have suffered for four years, do you mean every day (or other day) for the last four years or do you mean you had attacks 4 years ago and now they are back?
I would like to ask a few questions. You mention prescription meds flexeril and imitrex so I have to take it for granted that you have been to a doctor.
Were you diagnosed with cluster headaches? Or migraines? Or other?
Was the imitrex in spray, pill or injection form? Pill and spray can be slow to work. That could be why it took an hour to feel any relief.
Why did you feel it necessary to change beds to find relief? That sounds like a different kind of headache than clusters. Is that why the doc gave you flexeril?
Do the headaches wake you from a sound sleep?
On the left side of the board is a button ‘cluster quiz’. Please take the quiz and let us know the results.
Hope you flunk the quiz and find out you do not have clusters.
