I have seen DHE mentioned a couple of times on here, though cannot find definitive experiences by anyone with this drug on my searches. How has this worked out for anyone? Maybe i'm not searching correctly, though I think I did it right.. Negative or positive responses....anyone? Feedback is going back to my clusterhead...he is dreading ending his prednisone break which is coming up and is looking for feedback. Chronic over 4 years now, rare breaks between. Thanks, Peppermint

Here's what Georgia said about DHE http://www.clusterheadaches.com/wwwboard/messages/89366.html Which Search button did you use? Use the one at the top of the page under the words Clusterheadaches (not the Search button under the word Message Board). It will take you to the "old" search. Type in *dhe* and you should get back 151 posts on the subject.

a few years ago-before imitrex-my neuro gave this to me. i had a real problem with it because of the needle. i would wake up and have to concentrate and make sure i was giving myself the shot right. with the imitrex, i don't have to worry as much. plus, i can remember as soon as it wore off i would hit 10 more often. needless to say thank god for imitrex, at least for me.

Peppermint, Thank you for your supportive post on my suicide thread in General Posts. I just Emailed my doc about DHE, as it was brought up by another specialist I see from time to time. The Prednisone that I take that always breaks a cycle is not working. He is going to discuss DHE nasal spray or injection over the phone, and I will let you know if it works or not and what he has to say about it. Don Truett

Hey Mint.....I believe that I am a DHE success story! ;D I was put in the hospital in January for 6 days on an IV drip......there are many AWFUL side effects from this medication....but it actually shut the beast down and allowed the other meds to work in order for the cycle to end. If you're interested in the gory details let me know and I'll email them to you...... Mia

I was put on a IV drip of Dhe last year in the hospital, and it worked wonders. I was on it for 7 days, and it drove the beast away. However, as soon as i returned home ( within 12 hours), the beast was back, with a vengence. I am chronic. It was still a wellcome break Good luck sanjay

I been using the dhe since Aug. I have a daily chonic headache, at least that is what the neuro has confirmed, but we don't know what is causing them since the Beginning of summer Doc started me on 3 injection of 1 mg/day of dhe for 9 nine Days(Canada Health Care/Crisis System had to learn how do the injection at home and do my self) and now I just take the dhe when the headache comes on which is about in a good week about 3 times a week, I have to be careful after the second day I notice more tingling which is one of the side effects, but so far it is the only thing that make the beast go away,.
