I first got CH 3 yrs ago, went 6 mo. of hell till diagnosed
and started on Verap480/Depakote1 Gm/Imitrex nasal/
Medrol 4-8mg for shadows. before I was diagnosed it became apparent that steroids were the only thing that gave 100 % albeit short lived relief. CH lasted another 6 mo. on & off then slowly faded away. Off course then I figured I was cured. Well boom 6 wks ago my ass got a kickin. I just got off a 2 day start of Topamax......forget it
I can't handle that stuff. Here are some things that might have triggered my latest round. I had reduced my depakote and stopped the verap (for sound medical reasons) had some major surgery which resulted in my taking high doses of Celebrex and had gone thru a 3 wk.
recoup period taking narcotics for my shoulder surgery.
I also seem to not be able to tolerate anti-depressants
of any kind any more. I am 52 y/o and it would appear
that my brain chemistries are changing. There is some interesting work being done which seems to relate CH and Migraine with mood disorders like Bi-Polar.Today I am in one of those painful funks where I feel like I also have the flu and absolutely no energy. Anyway
