What has helped me

Hello
In 1994 I was diagnosed with cluster headaches which lasted 4 months.  During this cluster I was put on Cortisone and lithium, which helped but didn't break the cluster.  Eventually a Chiropractor seemed to break it.

I remained free of headaches for six years... In 2000 I had CH for two weeks which the chiropractor broke again.  At present I'm entering my seventh week of CH's... And you guessed it, the chiro is not helping.

I don't know any other sufferers... and would like to ask a few questions which I hope someone can answer.

Between attacks of pain, do you fell disorientated and confused?
Does certain food bring on attacks?
Do you feel cold when the weather is warm?

Thank you
Philip

Philip, you have come to the right place! Do try and read as much as you can, for many people have left pearls of wisdom in the archives, many more than can respond to your query.

Briefly:
Some people feel desoriented, but others don't. Some need cold to alleviate the pain, others need heat.

Different people have different triggers (like ingesting msg or the smell of perfume, gasoline or manure) but some have none at all. Alcohol is a trigger for most. In the main, if you get an attack within 30 minutes of consuming something, it probably was a trigger!

You did not say what meds you are on now, maybe there is room for improvement?
Read everything on this site you can get your hands on, is my advice.

Painfree days to you!
